Why I want to become a Mentor?

My Erasmus+ exchange at AGH University in 2023 gave me lasting friendships and a deep appreciation for the international community I found in Poland. I want to become a mentor because I would like to give something back to the university that made me feel welcome and like home. For AGH students considering an exchange, internship, or career abroad, I can share what it is like to take that first step: finding opportunities, preparing applications, adapting to a new culture, and building friendships across borders. As a Vietnamese alumnus, I can also offer a perspective on living and working in Vietnam and help students explore a part of the world they may not yet know well. Furthermore, I also want to learn from AGH students and faculty about knowledge and global experiences regarding study and work. I hope our conversations will help them feel more confident about going abroad while continuing the friendship between AGH, Poland, and Vietnam that has meant so much to me.

My professional experience

My professional experience focuses on international cooperation and sustainable development. At GIZ Vietnam and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Vietnam, I supported projects and events related to the energy transition, including renewable energy, wind and solar power. I worked with public and private partners, government agencies, experts, and organizations from Vietnam and abroad, helping coordinate activities, communicate across languages, and bring different stakeholders together. My time at Informa Markets Vietnam also gave me practical experience connecting businesses through international exhibitions, particularly in the mining and energy sectors. This included supporting opportunities for European companies, especially those from Poland, to meet and engage with Vietnamese businesses. As an AGH mentor, I can share both the opportunities and the practical challenges of working across these sectors. I hope to help students who want to go abroad understand how international projects and business partnerships work, build professional relationships across cultures, and explore career opportunities in Vietnam and beyond.
