Why I want to become a Mentor?

I am always happy to share my experiences, particularly those related to international opportunities at AGH. I began exploring these in my second year of study, starting with a student exchange to Italy through BEST AGH. I would not be working in Japan today if not for my initial visit through ERASMUS+. Those experiences helped shape my future, and without them, my career would likely have taken a very different path. I am grateful for these opportunities and want to help others discover them and make the most of them. As a mentor, I welcome questions and conversations with young people who are curious about international experiences and where they might lead.

My professional experience

My professional experience begins with internships at laboratories: EMPA in Switzerland and ACMiN AGH, both in 2016. Since 2018, I have been a co-investigator in various research projects related to material engineering and ceramics. Initially, that work was conducted as a PhD Student, then as Research Assistant and finally as Assistant Professor. In 2022 I was invited as a visiting researcher at Hokkaido University, where prior to that I did part of my PhD at Hokkaido University, thanks to the ERASMUS+ programme. After graduation in 2023, I worked briefly as Assistant Professor in ACMiN AGH working on perovskite materials and the topic of superconductivity. In November 2023, I moved to Tohoku University, where I became a University Research Administrator (URA), therefore changing my professional profile from research to research management. I specialize in managing projects that are STEM-related in nature. I will begin my process of becoming "Certified URA" in October 2026. This is roughly an equivalent of habilitation, from the point of view of a Japanese research administrator.
